R.I.P Ronnie James Dio

May 16, 2010 was a sad day, not just for the metal world, but for all of music. Even a few days later, I still can't believe it. Dio was perhaps one of the most talented and influential singers in metal. He has been making music for over half a century and his music has touched us all in some way or another. We always used to wonder what Dio's songs were about, he certainly had a very unique writing style, and I think he knew we would all interpret the songs meanings in our own way.

When I saw Heaven and Hell in the summer, Dio was full of energy on stage and his vocals were still as powerful as ever. You would watch him on stage and it was easy to forget how old he actually was. It was probably one of the best live performances I had ever seen.

Let us remember all the great stuff Dio did (not just musically, but the humble, kind person he was, and for all he did for the very world) and let the memory of him forever live on.
